The Girl Behind the Books

Hi!

My name is Caitlin. As far back as I can remember, I have always enjoyed reading books. I’ve often nicknamed myself a life-long learner and believe that there is something to be learned from everything I read. I take pride in analyzing the books I read - finding the structure of the story, figuring out character development, using literary elements to help me with understanding the worlds I so gladly insert myself into. English was one of my favorite school subjects growing up and I still use most of what I learned today. I don’t just read; I yearn to understand the author’s intentions with every word and sentence.

I enjoy reading just about anything… except smut. I am a classic book lover, with real literary prose and elements. I need a solid story line and unshakeable characters if I am going to find a book worth reading. Recently, I’ve been devouring thrillers, gothic lit, mystery, horror, and true crime. I am not the biggest fan of romance or fantasy books, which are huge in the online book community right now, but I will read Nicholas Sparks here and there.
